Pebble Jar

Privacy Policy

The short version

Pebble Jar is designed to keep the personal details of your practice on your device. The app has no account system and does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Anonymous product analytics are on by default. You can turn them off or back on at any time in Support → Privacy.

Information stored on your device

Pebble Jar stores the information needed to run your jars locally, including jar names and focuses, pebbles and notes, identity and motivation text, plans, reminders, reflections, subgoals, time capsules, visual settings, progress statistics, and app preferences.

The app and its Home Screen widget share this information through Apple’s App Group storage on your device. Pebble Jar does not operate a server that receives this user-created content.

Deleting the app may remove locally stored information, subject to Apple’s device backup and restore behaviour. Deleting an individual jar removes that jar and its associated app data from active storage.

Anonymous analytics

Pebble Jar uses TelemetryDeck to understand broad feature use and improve reliability. Analytics may include:

Pebble Jar does not send jar names, custom focus text, pebble notes, identity statements, motivations, reflections, plans, reminder content, time capsules, or other free text through analytics. Pebble Jar's custom analytics fields are rejected unless they appear in a fixed allow-list; TelemetryDeck also adds the standard technical metadata described above.

TelemetryDeck states that it does not store IP addresses, cookies, or identifiers traceable to an individual. Learn more in TelemetryDeck’s Privacy FAQ and privacy information.

Opting out

Analytics are on by default for the app and widget. Turning “Share analytics” off in Support → Privacy immediately terminates analytics collection on the device, and the preference remains off unless you turn it back on. Previously transmitted anonymous, aggregated events cannot be matched back to you for individual deletion.

Supporter purchases

If you make or restore a one-time supporter purchase, Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy. Pebble Jar uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, validate transactions, restore purchases, and determine supporter entitlement status. RevenueCat receives purchase information and an automatically generated app user identifier; Pebble Jar does not provide RevenueCat with your jar content or free text.

See Apple’s Privacy Policy and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy for details about their processing.

Device motion, notifications, and widget access

The app reads accelerometer data while an interactive jar or setup scene is active so pebbles can respond to device tilt. This motion data is used in real time and is not stored or transmitted by Pebble Jar.

If you enable notifications, scheduling preferences and notification content are handled on your device through Apple’s notification system. The widget reads shared jar information from the local App Group store so it can display your selected jar and add a pebble.

Sharing, sale, and retention

Pebble Jar does not sell personal information, run advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Information is shared only with the service providers described above when their feature is used or allowed, or when required by law.

Local data remains until you delete a jar or the app, subject to device backups. Supporter transaction records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies. Anonymous analytics are retained according to TelemetryDeck’s service settings and policies.

Children

Pebble Jar is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no account system, the developer generally cannot identify the age of a person using it.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Pebble Jar’s features or service providers change. The “Last updated” date above will change when that happens. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this website where practical.
